The (3-0) Miami Dolphins will play against the (3-0) New Orleans Saints on Monday night football while a few key defensive players status remains in limbo.
DT Paul Soliai (knee) has been seen practicing two days in row in individual drills and as well as Cam Wake (sprained MCL). I can’t confirm if they have been participating in team drills, because the media is only allowed to see the first twenty minutes. Coach Philbin will not elaborate on injuries, because it’s the way their system works. Derrick Shelby or Dion Jordan would start for Cam Wake, if he doesn’t play on Monday. Shelby played 47 snaps and Jordan played 31 snaps against the Falcons per Pro Football.com.
I have yet to rule out DE Cam Wake because he is literally out in practice doing drills. Wake is definitely seen running carefully and has been wearing sweatpants the last two days and when he usually wears shorts. He might end up being a game-time decision on Monday against the Saints.
CB Dimirti Patterson (groin) hasn’t been seen in practice for the last two days and I’m expecting him not to play on Monday. I expect CB Nolan Carroll to start on the opposite side of CB Brent Grimes. Carroll, per Pro Football Focus.com played 71 snaps against the Falcons and didn’t have a good rating on pass coverage. The Dolphins defense will have to be at their best with facing the high power Saints offense.
- Dolphins have a chance to start the season 4-0 and that hasn’t been done since 1995.
- Dolphins will release the injury report later on today
