The (2-0) Miami Dolphins play the (1-1) Atlanta Falcons this Sunday at 4:05 pm in the regular season home opener.
Additionally, the Falcons will be shorthanded going forward to the game on Sunday. RB Steven Jackson will be out for the game against the Dolphins, because of a thigh injury suffered in the first quarter against the Rams.
Head coach Mike Smith told the Atlantic Journal Constitution, “It’s short term and don’t know if that’s two or three weeks”.
The Falcons will rely on running back Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling against the Dolphins. Snelling ran for 19 yards and a touchdown on only two carries against the Rams. Rodgers found no success against the Rams, carrying the ball 11 times for 17 yards.
The Falcons also lost defensive end Kroy Biermann (Achilles), fullback Bradie Ewing (shoulder) to season-ending injuries. Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon was also placed on short-term injured reserve. The Dolphins are concerned with DT Paul Soliai, who has missed two straight days of practice and FS Chris Clemons has been seen working with the trainers for the past two days.
Also, the Dolphins will have to take advantage of unfortunate circumstances of the injury bug visiting the Falcons. The Falcons still have QB Matt Ryan, WR Roddy White, and WR Julio Jones who are a bigger test for the Dolphins secondary. Dolphins’ secondary is tied in the league in interceptions with eight.
It will be a must-watch tv, who will cover WR Roddy White and WR Julio Jones? The Dolphins will release the injury report later on today and it will tell us if CB Dimirti Patterson will play on Sunday. Dolphins have a chance to start the season 3-0 for the first time since the 2002 season and earn back fans support who have been hoping for a winning Dolphins team.
